What people say about us…

Fantastic breakfast. Felt very welcome

As many others, booked a package including lunch in town. Left the car at the hotel, parking was free. We were shown around on checking in and made to feel really welcome. The meal at the sister hotel in town was enjoyable and meant we could wander around Bath the rest of the day before retiring to our room. The room was cosy and yes the furniture is not new but it’s an old building so I didn’t expect modern. I found the bed comfortable, the floor boards creaky and that just added to the ambience. The whole place is clean and pleasant. Shower powerful and hot. Sink in the room, not bathroom was a change. The cafetière and proper coffee in the room were a great touch. Breakfast was just fantastic. Black pudding, toast, sausage and bacon all excellent. If you’re looking for modern or very plush then look elsewhere. But if you’re OK with comfortable, friendly and well equipped at a great price then this is for you. Highly recommended.

Enjoyable break

Stayed here for two nights. In a good position just off the A46 outside Bath. Regular bus service (every ten minutes in the day) into Bath so know need to use the car. Very nice hotel in lovely setting with friendly and helpful staff. Would stay here again if we visit Bath again.

Lovely night away

We upgraded to a four poster room. The room was lovely, walked into Bath to the Royal Hotel for lunch three courses and a bottle of wine included in the deal. The food was very good and the hotel was lovely. The breakfast in the Bailbrook lodge was excellent. We were able to leave our car in the car park and walk into Bath on the day of check out which was wonderful.

Fabulous

We have just left Bailbrook and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Spotlessly clean, beautiful surroundings, excellent friendly service, delicious breakfast, Couldn’t fault it. Thank you for a lovely stay

Champagne breakfast

I have just returned from a 1 night stay with a friend at the Bailbrook Lodge. The staff were very welcoming and informative. The hotel location is a few miles from Bath but it is an easy bus journey from the hotel and a flat walk. The hotel offers a small friendly atmosphere in a characteristic historical property which was thoroughly enjoyable. We were offered free parking on both days of our one night stay which was an excellent bonus. The twin room we stayed in was on the ground floor it had ample tea, coffee and hot chocolate available, the beds were comfortable and the room was clean and nicely decorated. There was champagne in the room on arrival which was part of our package and it is clear that it is very efficiently run hotel. The breakfast was ample with hot food cooked to order and perfection. A beautiful setting, excellent value, warm and welcoming, thank you we shall be back.

Lovely 3 night stay

What a find! Lovely hotel only a shortish walk from Bath city centre. We stayed here for 3 nights and it was great. Every member of their team was helpful and friendly. Our room was fab, we stayed in the Family room with a four poster bed which to us was massive( we only have a small double at home). Would we go again? You bet! Breakfast was the best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever had, hubby had English breakfast which he said was good too. We would recommend to anyone, thank you for a lovely break in Bath.

The Perfect Mini-moon

A wonderful two night stay. We came for a spa break before our wedding, using Bailbrook lodge’s incredibly generous spa weekend offer. We were met with wonderfully friendly staff, complementary treats, and afternoon tea. The 4 post bedroom was beautiful and the garden was a lovely protected area to walk in. A delicious breakfast in the mornings and excellent customer service throughout our stay.

A well run B&B with excellent staff and splendid breakfast.

We needed accommodation for one night (Saturday) with parking and we discovered Bailbrook Lodge which fitted our requirement. This detached Georgian house occupied a good location for the city centre. the rooms were well furnished in keeping with the property and with en suite bathrooms very reasonably priced. The rooms were comfortable and on the snug size. A small bar and lounge on the ground floor and a splendid dining room with table cloths nice to see that. Overall a very pleasant experience and well recommended.

TripAdvisor – January 2019

Highly recommend

Had a fabulous stay here. The room was fine, the staff friendly and the food delicious. We ate a substantial breakfast at the lodge and lunch at the Sister hotel in central Bath. The bus to the centre runs regularly and leaves from just outside the lodge. We will return !!

One of the best stays

Me and my sister stopped here for a couple of nights. Great location close to the town centre and easy to find. When we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The lady on reception was fantastic and very helpful explaining everything the B&B had to offer. Our room was spotless and had lovely views over the garden. Afternoon tea was delicious and the gentleman was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the morning was very food and lots of choice possibly the best I’ve ever come across. We booked on the spa break deal and got dinner and a spa pass. Dinner was on the centre of town at their sister hotel and was lovely and a great menu choice. Overall we had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend Bailbrook lodge. If I was visiting Bath again I would definitely stay here again.

Another lovely stay

Stayed in the Queen Charlotte room again, a twin room. Lovely stay, everyone is very friendly and comfortable beds. Breakfast is superb, includes a glass of champagne, continental choices and a cooked breakfast to order. Recommend booking directly with them as its not only cheaper but you get a loyalty card which they load up with 10% of the value of your stay for use against next trip or at sister hotel.

A hidden gem. So quaint, clean, friendly and reasonably priced. Great breakfast and so well situated for catching the No 3 bus into town (make sure you buy a return ticket, you can use contactless to pay, the tickets are printed out and given to you) Will definitely be going back for another stay, can’t recommend it highly enough.

A lovely stay ! With warm and friendly staff

Autumn getaway at this picturesque location

The ‘Bailbrook Lodge’ really is likened to a location used in period drama’s. A listed building, full of character and holding onto that same character despite covering many years and live in hosts. This house is cleverly now hosting many guests who aspire to this unique setting. It’s situated on the outskirts of Bath city, a short 10min bus/car journey or 30 leisurely walk. Very secluded, quiet, full of character, attention to detail, great breakfast, all rooms on-suite, exceptionally clean and staff attentive and welcoming.

A enjoyable break in Bath

Home after a very relaxing second stay at Bailbrook Lodge. Checking in was easy and our room at the top of the lodge was fabulous especially the huge four poster bed (very comfy) and lovely view out the window. Breakfast was excellent, hot and freshly made so set you up for a day sightseeing in Bath. Checking out was quick with a very helpful suggestion by the staff. They called The Royal Hotel by Bath Spa station and said we could leave our bags there if we had time to kill in the City before our train home, really useful so thank you. Would definitively recommend a stay here, thank you for enjoyable break from Michael and Caroline Phillips x

Absolutely gorgeous

We stayed for two nights in The Garden Suite, four girls & we loved it! We had two rooms in one with a door we could close between them – one room had the gorgeous four poster (which was extremely comfortable!) and the other had twin beds. The young man on reception was extremely helpful, he showed us around and made sure we knew where & what time breakfast was etc. The breakfast was superb, cooked fresh to order & the staff were all extremely helpful. There is a bus stop outside, but we found local taxis were only around £8, which for four of us was as cheap as the bus – the hotel were happy to call them for us too. It was a genuinely lovely stay – we did have a quick drink from the small bar one afternoon (it closes at 10.00pm) and as the weather was so beautiful, we also spent some time one evening in the garden. I would definitely stay here again! A real taste of luxury.

TripAdvisor – August 2018

Old style Charm

We don’t like to stay in ‘corporate’ places, so this filled our needs for a two night stay perfectly. Georgian style is maintained throughout, which means that it has character and age. The staff are great, especially Nick, and the breakfasts are fabulous. Beds are comfortable and towels new and fluffy. Having read a few critical reviews, I gather a lot of people really didn’t appreciate the charm of a short stay here – yes it is intentionally ‘dated’! We took advantage of the free parking onsite – quite a rarity in Bath – and caught the bus or boat into the city. thanks to the location, this was easy. There was some traffic noise at night as the weather was so hot that we had our windows wide open, but we have experienced far worse at budget chain places. If you value somewhere with a bit of character and charm, Bailbrook Lodge is the place to stay.

TripAdvisor – August 2018

A Hidden Gem

My husband and I recently stayed for two nights on our fourth trip to Bath and found The Lodge to be a charming place to stay. The staff were very welcoming, Nic on our arrival and Carol during breakfast. Our room had a four poster bed overlooking the well kept gardens. The location is just a 10 minute bus ride to the city with several buses on route. Make full use of this feature as parking within the city centre is sparse. Added bonus, the Lodge has a deal with Bath Thermae Spa which gives you an added extra hour when you visit. Not all hotels / B&B or Lodges has this deal. Will certainly be staying here again – 5 star !!

TripAdvisor – July 2018

Wonderful calm oasis

Stayed for a weekend in Queen Charlotte’s room I think it was called. Warm welcome, small manor house with about 15 bedrooms, lovely lounge area overlooking garden and breakfast room. Breakfast was great, champagne if you wanted it, continental breakfast, and choice of cooked breakfast including vegetarian options. Chocolate left on our pillows at night and nice complimentary toiletries in the bathroom. Manageress and all the staff we met there were lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful. We got a bus into Bath from the bus stop at the bottom of the drive both days we were there. Takes you into the centre in about 8 minutes and buses very frequent, left car at hotel. Will definitely be back and have now got one of their loyalty cards.

Fantastic stay at Bailbrook Lodge to celebrate our anniversary nothing was too much trouble for Jacqui, Nic and the team. Would recommend the spa package with their sister hotel the Royal actually in Bath for an exceptional evening meal.

A friendly boutique hotel with period charm

A boutique hotel that retains its period features. The staff are friendly and helpful and there is a comfortable sitting room for guests. Just outside of the City Centre it has a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. The Centre of Bath is easy to reach. The breakfast is excellent and includes complimentary champagne.

TripAdvisor – June 2018

Great visit

We visited the hotel for 2 nights, we booked one of the 4 poster rooms, massive room. The Jane Austin Suite, very nice indeed. The staff were very friendly, breakfast was very good too. We couldn’t fault this hotel one bit, we loved our stay. If we visit Bath again, I would waste my time looking for somewhere else, I would just come back here, 100%. Nice comfortable bed, nice touches too, gowns, slippers, chocolate on your pillow etc. It took 30 mins to walk into town, we did that each day. The staff were happy for us to leave our car in the car park the day we arrived, around 11:00am, and we left it until 4:00 the day we went home. Thank you x

TripAdvisor – June 2018

Would definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay at Bailbrook Lodge. From arrival to leaving, the staff were really friendly and couldn’t help enough. The grounds are beautiful and we were really lucky with the weather so made the most of the garden. It’s also 10 minutes on the bus into the centre and the bus stop is right outside. Would definitely stay here again.

TripAdvisor – May 2018

Fantastic! Didn’t want to leave. Best place to stay in Bath.

Facebook – May 2018

Excellent

We stayed at the Lodge for a couple of nights and really enjoyed it. It’s really handy being just off the A46 so is easy to get to and with a bus stop just at the end of the drive it is perfect for getting into Bath – taking a car into the centre is not a good idea! The room was clean and given the age of the building, in very good order. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast excellent – we gave the champagne a miss though! All in all a great stay and much recommended.

TripAdvisor – May 2018

Excellent location just outside the city centre. The hotel lodge has a beautiful setting, hospitality. Lovely, rooms very nice, loads of character. Love the place!

Facebook – May 2018

Still excellent on second stay

This is our second visit and both times it has been excellent. The hotel is full of character and very well decorated with period furniture. Breakfasts are in a lovely dining room with views over the large garden. The breakfasts themselves are superb – various cereals and fruit, cooked breakfasts – vegetarian, English to kippers, plus pastries. The staff are really friendly and nothing seems too much trouble. Location is ideal for coming from the M4 – straight down the A46 and it’s literally off the roundabout as you enter Bath. The hotel has a decent sized car park. The location is very peaceful and the private garden very nice to sit out in. Thoroughly recommended and will return.

TripAdvisor – April 2018

Perfect in every way

We stayed for three nights while visiting Bath, had one of the four poster rooms because we wanted something a bit different, a lovely Georgian style room in keeping with the rest of the Lodge with beautiful view over the gardens, draw the heavy Georgian style curtains too keep out the night and fall asleep under the goose feather duvet in the huge four poster bed, bottle of champagne on the dressing table (if you want it), chocolate on your pillow every day (nice touches), selection of teas and cafetière for coffee in your room, complimentary robes and slippers, the perfect room. Down to breakfast a full selection of croissants, cereals, yogurts, juices and champagne followed by a choice from the breakfast menu (we had the English, absolutely delicious) served by the most attentive and friendly staff (Carol deserves a special mention here). Sightseeing in Bath take the bus from the end of the drive, runs every 15 minutes and saves trying to park in the city. Bailbrook Lodge (worthy of seven stars) was the perfect place to stay for our visit to Bath and we shall definitely be returning for another visit.

TripAdvisor – April 2018

Quaint, Comfortable & Welcoming

Really loved staying here. Staff we’re exceptionally helpful and accommodating. I felt very relaxed and at peace especially drinking our complimentary champagne in the sitting room with the beautiful classical music playing. Afternoon tea was ok. Breakfast was lovely and well set out. Would definitely come here again and bring friends.
