World Heritage Day in Bath

The city of Bath has a worldwide reputation as not only a top place for cultural tourism in the UK, but also for being the number one spa destination in the country, which sees many people come to take advantage of one of the spa breaks in Bath. On top of this, the city of Bath was inscribed as a World Heritage Site in 1987, being recognised as being of both historical and cultural significance.

This year, the celebration of this auspicious occasion will take place on April 22, when visitors will be treated to a wide range of festivities at a selection of venues around the city. World Heritage Day in Bath celebrates everything that is unique about the city, from the Romans harnessing the therapeutic properties of its underground geothermal springs, to the Georgian period architecture around the city and historical residents like Jane Austen, who used the city a source of inspiration in many of her novels.
