The Phoenix of Madrid at the Theatre Royal Bath

The UK Premiere of “The Phoenix of Madrid” a hilarious comedy from the Spanish Golden Age will be performed by the Ustinov Studio Company at the Theatre Royal at Monmouth Street, in the Spa city of Bath. The show is running from the 14th to the 27th of September.

Bath’s Ustinov Studio Company are presenting the Calderon’s 17th-century Spanish comedy-drama story about a man (Don Pedro) trying to marry off his daughters. Don Pedro has a charmed life, a high position, wealth, a beautiful family and enjoys the good life whilst in the heart of the Spanish capital.

The playwright Calderon was probably the greatest genius of the Spanish Golden Age, which is arguably rivalled only by our own Elizabethan era and the Ancient Greeks. So try not to miss this theatrical treat and to see a show that has not been seen by British audiences in the UK before.

Why not make a night of it or stay for a weekend in a beautifully preserved Georgian period property for your luxury Bath accommodation and a relaxing stay.
