Sail away from it all at Bath Boating Station

There’s something about a visit to Bath that’ll have you feeling like leaving the rest of the world behind, and one of the places that makes it easy to it Bath Boating Station. This Victorian boating station is so quaint it hurts, and you can hire a boat of your choice and while your way along the River Avon. Boats can be hired hourly or for a full day.

The station is an easy walk from the centre of the city, and there’s a choice of rowing boats, canoes, punts, kayaks and rowing punts. The city looks completely different from the water, and this is also a lovely way to get up close to some of the local wildlife that calls the river and its banks home. Now you can head in either direction but we’ll let you in on a little secret – the pub’s upstream! Rowers are welcome to hop ashore for lunch and a drink before making their way onwards or back down river, so many find this an unforgettable day.

Bailbrook Lodge is a romantic Bath B and B that makes the ideal base for a weekend for two.
