Jane Austen Festival in Bath


A writer that has left her mark on English literature forever, with novels known and loved throughout the world such as; Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park and Emma just to name but a few, Jane Austen was a force to be reckoned with in the 18th century.

 Today she is also well known world-wide because of the many adaptations of her work which have since been made into TV series and big budget blockbuster films from Hollywood. So it seems appropriate the there is a dedicated festival in Bath celebrating her work and life.

 The “Jane Austen Festival” in Bath is an annual event and this year takes place between the 16th and the 24th of September. It attracts many fans and lovers of Jane Austen’s work from not just the UK, but from all over the world. Many fan’s turn up or hire “Regency period” costume to immerse themselves fully in the world of the famous writer and her work. This years Jane Austen Festival takes place at different venues at various locations in Bath with a range of events taking place every day to commemorate Jane Austen.
