Experience autumn in Bath’s Alexandra Park

What is it about enjoying a view of a city from high above it that makes it look even more unforgettable? Well whatever it is that makes looking down on a skyline so magical you can certainly take time out to do it in Bath – with a visit to Alexandra Park.

This 11 acre park has some of the best views in the city, and if you can manage the rather long flight of steps that lead up to it you’ll be rewarded with a panoramic view of the Georgian city and the woods and vales that enfold it. The park sits high above the city at the top of Beeches Cliff, and it’s been welcoming families and walkers eager for the perfect snapshot since for decades. Opened in 1902 in honour of Edward VII’s commemoration, the park looks gorgeous in every season.

One eager reviewer described the park as “the best view from a swing”, and if you can budge the little ones off the play area for long enough you can see what she meant! Bailbrook Lodge is a boutique B and B in Bath with style, four poster beds and a tranquil setting.
