Astronomical Star Parties and Solar Observation: Summer Solstice

How about an evening’s entertainment which is both fun and educational with a difference? Once again, the Wiltshire Astronomical Society will be collaborating with the Griffon Educational Observatory, supported by the Bath and North East Somerset Council, in a public evening stargazing event.

If you are fortunate enough to be staying at one of the luxury hotels in Bath on June 21, why not head over to Kingston Parade adjacent to Bath Abbey for the Summer Solstice Observation evening? There you will be given the opportunity to have local astronomers show you how to use a solar telescope and view the sun safely whilst enjoying the summer solstice.

This is a completely free event, so for more details and information contact the Herschel Museum of Astronomy in Bath on 01225 446865. As with all astronomical observations, it is dependent upon suitable weather conditions.

To make sure you are well placed to take part in this special event, book into one of the luxury Bath hotels like Bailbrook Lodge, which is situated within easy reach of the city centre and local attractions.
