Here are some of our recommendations:
Explore the historic streets of Bath and discover its plethora of museums and galleries. See where Jane Austen danced, where Thomas Gainsborough painted, and where Mary Berry baked. Delve deep into the past at the Roman Baths or enjoy contemporary exhibitions at the Victoria Art Gallery.
Find big brand names as well as fantastic independent boutiques at the Southgate Shopping area, Kingsmead Square, as well as Milsom and Walcot streets. On weekends, visit the Saturday Farmer Market, the Artisan Market and Green Park Station’s Vintage and Antique Market.
Explore Bath’s parks and gardens. Listen to the summer bands in the Parade Gardens while overlooking beautiful Pulteney Bridge and Weir. Stroll along the riverside, take a cruise along the Avon or pamper yourself at the world-famous Thermae Bath Spa.
When it comes to entertainment, Bath has it all. Year-round, the city is brimming with world-renowned festivals. At night, guests can visit Theatre Royal or Komedia then wind down at pubs, wine cellars or funky cocktail bars. Bath is also home to the popular Moles nightclub and the quirky Common Room for those who want to dance all night long.
What people say about our Short Breaks ….
We stayed at the Lodge for a couple of nights and really enjoyed it. It’s really handy being just off the A46 so is easy to get to and with a bus stop just at the end of the drive it is perfect for getting into Bath – taking a car into the centre is not a good idea! The room was clean and given the age of the building, in very good order. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast excellent – we gave the champagne a miss though! All in all a great stay and much recommended.
