What people say about us...

Good accueil.Personnel warm. Perfect for stays of any duration. Breakfast is a treat! I highly recommend this hotel to people passing through a bath. Even if it can offset a downtown bus stop is outside the hotel. We spent a week here and we loved it! The only downside is no food at night, but a great little pub is approximately 4 minutes on foot! The meals are very good and the warm welcome and the atmosphere.

What makes this hotel stand out is its top customer service, which together with the small size and individual style of the hotel make a stay there a very personal experience. The manager, Daniel, really went the extra mile, showing us round the hotel, making restaurant bookings (both his recommendations excellent) and even giving us a lift into the city centre. The breakfasts were excellent, especially the offerings for vegetarians, and we enjoyed our complimentary champagne. The only real disadvantage to the hotel is its location a little way from the city centre, but this can be easily managed with a little planning - buses are regular, taxis cost around £7, or it's a pleasant half-hour walk.
Room Tip: Would advise checking what type of bath/shower is available in different rooms - the slipper bath in our room was a nice feature, but its high sides meant it might not be easy to get in and out of for some people.

Better second time around On arrival we were greeted by Manager, Daniel who showed us around and took us to our room. He was very helpful throughout our stay and helped us with transport into town on the incredibly busy first Christmas market weekend and organised a table at a local and really good restaurant.Breakfast was good, staff were friendly and helpful our room was nice with a lovely bathroom. This visit was complimentary following my parents unfortunate stay in July. I say unfortunate as I really think they'd been unlucky as all of the things they mentioned were just not an issue. The lodge is in a great place, it's very close to Bath, but just outside and in beautiful surroundings yet on a main road, it manages to be accessible and peaceful, perfect after a days shopping, spa-ing and eating, it was great to go back and relax there. I would definitely stay there again.

The Bailbrook Lodge hotel is a pretty Georgian building with comfortable rooms all in the house. The staff are friendly and obliging and the breakfasts extremely good- probably the best we have had. The house is set back from the roads and the bedrooms are therefore quiet. Our room, at the back overlooked the tree-backed car-park, and we could leave the car in complete confidence. We thoroughly recommend the Bailbrook Lodge and staff.
Room Tip: All rooms fine. Morning sunshine at the front of the Lodge. A superb guesthouse to find. Excellent staff too. Breakfasts to extol! Big recommendation.

Great room - with four-poster, comfortable settee, decent reading lights, practical and attractive looking desk. Atmosphere in spades, and a cleverly designed shower room tucked away out of sight. So close to the motorway and yet so tranquil. Breakfast was just great - the best kippers on my entire trip in the UK. Service was friendly without being intrusive. (I'd never call a chocolate on my pillow intrusive). Wifi worked in our room, even though management suggested we might need to use it downstairs. As an accommodation option, it was comfortable and good value.

Good value for money We met very pleasant staff and got an extraordinary room. We were served a very nice breakfast and was very helpful in finding interesting places to visit.

Nice, quaint Georgian style B&B Nice location just outside of town, which has a nice country feel. Staff was very pleasant and informative. The room was perfect with a beautiful 4 poster bed. The view from the room was very refreshing overlooking the grounds. Overall our 1 night stay was excellent and would recommend for anyone planning on staying in Bath.
Room Tip: Definitely ask for a room with a 4-poster bed

Stayed recently at Bailbrook Lodge, we did the spa package weekend & it was more than well worth the money, the staff ALL looked after us very well & couldn't do enough to please us yet managed it without being constantly in your face. The room we stayed in was The John Pitt room on the 1st floor & overlooked the car park the room was very clean tidy & comfortable I managed to sleep exceptionally well which isn't easy for me to do... We woke to a champagne cooked breakfast on both Sat & Sun both my husband & I have said we will most definitely return to stay there as was definite value for money & the place is full of character. Thank you very much to ALL staff you're stars...

We were visiting Bath with relatives from the USA. We booked Bailbrook Lodge because of the facilities (we stayed in the Garden Suite – which was suitable for 4 persons/adults). The location was great for Bath (5 minutes by car, 20-30 minutes stroll). Whilst we were there we visiting Longleat and Stonehenge. The staff at Bailbrook Lodge were excellent, they were warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were of a very high standard. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and the quality/choice for breakfast is one of the best I have experienced (I travel a lot with business). Thank you for a very pleasurable stay.

For peace and tranquillity this is the place to stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. Fantastic service with all staff very approachable and knowledgeable of the area. Nothing too much trouble. Fantastic room very clean and pleasantly decorated in periodic style. Dining room and sitting rooms very welcoming and comfortable with beautiful views of the garden. Ideal location for a relaxing and tranquil break. Very good value for money. The main part of the city can be easily reached by bus or taxi. It is walkable but not a very pleasant walk! A point to consider is that it is not your usual run of the mill hotel with 24 hour service which all adds to the more relaxed break. I would definitely stay there again.

Everything it is a great hotel with wonderful staff in an amazing location. The breakfast is something special, as is the garden and the rooms, try it you will see what I mean
- Nothing, it was as near perfect a hotel as I have found
David Mercer, Croydon (GB).

The hotel is well situated, being two miles approx from the city centre, so the taxi fares are very reasonable. The staff are brilliant, creating a family atmosphere but still businesslike. Daniel, the General Manager, cannot do enough to assist, booking taxis to restaurants. There are a number of restaurants in the area, particularly the Batheaston Riverside Restaurant, which provide every type of food, cooked exceptionally well, serving families and individuals alike. I cannot fault the Bailbrook Lodge Hotel for courtesy, cleanliness, excellent breakfasts, and excellent accommodation. Would recommend it to anyone. ( nb Don't confuse the Batheaston Riverside Restarant with the Old Mill Restaurant which leaves a lot to be desired!)
- There was nothing to dislike at the Bailbrook Lodge Hotel, it is impossible to fault, and coming from someone who has stayed in so many hotels which have not come up to their advertising, it is an accolade very rarely bestowed!

“ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC... YOU COULD NOT ASK FOR MORE!” I have just come back from a 2 night stay at the Bailbrook and although I don't normally write reviews I really thought the Bailbrook deserved it! I was 1 of 17 on a weekend which my best friend organised for her sister and it exceeded all my expectations! The lodge is beautiful, the garden is so pretty but most of all the staff are probably the best you will find! We were made to feel so welcome on arrival and from then on we were so well looked after! Catering for 17 ladies is not easy but it was done so effortlessly! In particular I have to say thank you to Daniel who was so helpful and made sure everything ran smoothly for us from organising cabs, making really useful suggestions (for example suggesting that we could take the boat into town rather than a cab which is definitely worth doing... lovely 10 minute walk and the boat was a really nice way to see another part of the town), he was always available to answer any questions, liaised with us to ensure we had the whole breakfast room to ourselves and so many other things but still managed to do this without being intrusive and allowing us the space to enjoy ourselves!

I also have to mention the wonderful breakfast, a gorgeous continental spread plus a cooked breakfast (my scrambled egg and smoked salmon this morning was so delicious). The location of the lodge was great, in a really quiet and tranquil setting only 10 minutes in a cab into town (approx £7). We would have had a wonderful time wherever we went as we were a group of close family and friends but the exceptional package and service we received just made the whole weekend perfect. I think the lodge suits couples wanting a romantic break away, families (I'm already planning to go back with my husband and toddler), large parties of friends who want to be close enough to town for the nights out but in a quiet relaxing accommodation where you can enjoy a few glasses of wine and have a natter and catch up with friends.
Thank you so much again for a lovely weekend.

“We loved it and we'll be back” The rooms were excellent for all of us (we were 10). They offered a full English and continental breakfast which was a great start to our day. In spite of the hotel being a bit far from the city centre, the manager called us a taxi to go into town and we took the river boat back which was a very pleasant way to get back after a long day in the city. The manager and staff were extremely helpful, giving us addresses for our evening meals and letting us know where and how to get to special places along our way. I wouldn't hesitate to come back.

“Awesome property!” I wanted to do something memorable with my daughter for both of our birthdays since they are two days apart and I live in the States. I wanted to experience an English B&B and saw Bailbrook Lodge and the place looked amazing. Daniel was wonderful; helping us to choose a great restaurant nearby, Michelle came to our room to give me a reflexology massage and the staff was super. The breakfasts superb and the room overlooking the gardens was everything I imagined and more. If I ever get back to Bath, I would stay again!

“The best hotel in the quality / price ratio I've ever been.” I enjoyed my stay at this beautiful hotel. Cleanliness, staff and their friendliness, decoration, and a magnificent breakfast . There was Champagne! The decoration of the rooms was very nice. Also the dining room and hall. You can use free internet, and the garden is lovely. Certainly it's the best hotel in the quality / price ratio I've ever been.
