Think you know all there is to know about the Georgian masterpiece that’s our fair city of Bath? Think again! The Building of Bath Collection at No. 1 Royal Crescent gives visitors a whole new insight into where the buildings we still admire today came from, who designed them and why.
The museum tells the tale of the people who took a city and made it world famous and one of the attraction’s highlights is the stunning architectural model of the city centre. The collection is (fittingly we think!)housed in a historic building, the Countess of Huntingdon’s Chapel and it’s easily reached from the centre of the city.
The Building of Bath Collection is open Tuesday to Friday from 2pm to 5pm and from 10.30am – 5pm on weekends between February and November. It’s suitable for the whole family and it’s a fascinating way to spend an hour or two while you discover the city centre.
Bailbrook Lodge is a boutique B and B in Bath, and this Grade II listed country house will inspire you to find out more about the influences that made the city what we see today.
