One of the UK’s most celebrated female novelists, Jane Austen is also one of Bath’s most famous former residents, and has her own dedicated annual festival during mid-September.
This year the Jane Austen Festival will be taking place in the spa city of Bath between September 14 – 22 and offers over 60 different individual events dedicated to the world of Ms. Austen, her books and her colourful characters.
The 2012 festival offers some special highlights including an evening with Mr. Wickham, played by the acclaimed actor Adrian Lukis who also took on the role of the dastardly and dashing character in the 1995 Andrew Davies’ adaptation of ‘Pride & Prejudice’ for the BBC, so this will no doubt be a real treat for true fans. This event takes place on September 16 at the Bath Assembly Rooms at 8pm.
