Fun on Two Wheels with the Chew Valley Charity Bike Ride

Cycling in Somerset

If you are planning a trip to Bath shortly for a city break, why not include a little rural exercise into your holiday? This coming month sees the Chew Valley Charity Bike Ride taking place on October 7 and everyone is welcome to join in and take part.

The cycle ride is split into two routes, one which covers 33 mile route and another which takes a longer 50 mile route, depending on rider fitness. Both cycle routes start and finish in Bath’s Victoria Park. The route takes you along the old Bristol to Bath railway line to Saltford before winding down towards the picturesque Chew Valley. Both routes head north alongside Chew Valley Lake, then the shorter route heads back to Bath and the longer route encompasses Blagdon Hill before heading back to the city.

Entry is £12.50 for Adults and £7.00 for children, and the event commences at 8AM. For more information, contact 01179 897080 or go to the event website at http://www.bike-events.co.uk/Ride.aspx?id=345

Make sure you book a local b and b in Bath to enjoy this local event or, for a more relaxing time in the city, you could always enjoy one of the therapeutic spa breaks in Bath?
