How many of you know a budding scientist or a blossoming engineer? Well March is just the month to encourage them in the subject as it’s National Science and Engineering Week. Better yet, as the Roman Baths are always keen to mark special occasions with fun events for youngsters they’ll be hosting a series of themed events throughout the week.
The week runs from 16 – 24 March, and during this period families can enjoy Science Busking, Hands-on Science and the Romans as Engineers Trail. The Romans as Engineers Trail will enable children to discover the various ways that Romans approached engineering, just ask for one when you enter reception.
Science Busking will enable children to participate in a series of exciting investigations as they make their way around the trail, and Hands-on Science will see them join in with activities based on handling objects. This event will run every day throughout the week between 2pm and 4pm, and it’s a great opportunity for younger visitors to really grasp (literally!) the ways the Romans tried to push engineering forward.
Don’t forget that the historic Bailbrook Lodge is a Bath bed and breakfast that welcomes families, and that it includes parking and Wi-fi.
