There’s always an event to enjoy or something to celebrate in the lively city of Bath, and 2013 saw it mark more than three centuries since the Georgians made it what it is today. The Georgian period shaped the city into the cultural and impressive city that’s attracted visitors for centuries, and they influenced its architecture, style and society.
Why not visit a Bed and Breakfast in Bath this spring and walk in the footsteps of the Georgians who once called it home? There’s now a walking tour dedicated to retracing the footsteps of some of the most influential residents of the period, and they start regularly from Bath’s Visitor Information Centre (please ask inside for more information). The walks are inspiring, and they’re packed with everything you need to know about the Georgians to understand the city we see today.
The walks take in the most famous landmarks from the Georgian era, including No. 1 Royal Crescent and the Pump Room, and the start of 2014 sees a brand new exhibition open at the Fashion Museum depicting the fashions of the period. It’s set to include 30 breathtaking outfits, so make sure you visit this spring.
