Bath used as film location for Les Miserables

Anyone who stayed in a b and b in Bath last weekend may have been able to see the filming of a few scenes from a film that is predicted to be a huge success at the box office this winter.

The city of Bath is well known for its amazing architecture and classic appearance, something that has resulted in many films and television programmes using Bath as a setting or filming location. Last weekend, filming took place at the Grand Parade for the film adaptation of Les Miserables.

The film is due for release on 11th January and features an all-star cast including Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway to name but a few. The Grand Parade is a beautiful, elegant building which is frequently visited by those who enjoy spa breaks in Bath, and its magnificent structure will lend itself well to the depiction of early 19th century France.

Look out for its appearance in Les Miserables when it is released in January, one of the final climatic scenes was filmed at the Grand Parade which involved a complex stunt in the water.
