May 12 sees a very special event taking place at Bath Abbey, with a performance in celebration of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee entitled A Joyful Jubilee. This special concert is a celebration of English music for brass and voices.
The concert sees the highly renowned Bath Choral Society offer an engaging, high-quality performance which will be enhanced by the glorious surroundings and acoustics of the Abbey, all making for a packed musical programme fit for a Queen.
The concert programme will include new and old favourites from composers like Wesley, Bob Chilcott and Handel. As you would expect, you will also be able to enjoy music from the coronation itself, such as Walton’s Crown Imperial and the Taverner Hymn for the Sovereign. Plus, there will be audience participation with Vaughan Williams’ Old Hundredth and Jonathan Dove’s Open to me the Gates.
Ticket prices range from £8 – £20. To book or for more information, call the Bath Box Office on: 01225 463362
