Bath is an incredibly beautiful city attracting thousands of visitors every month thanks to the popularity of spa breaks in Bath but they also come to take a look at the grand architecture that never fails to impress.

Bath Abbey is a beautiful structure and it was originally founded in 1499 with the building work finally being completed in 1611. The history of the building dates back to Anglo Saxon times and it is thought that Christians worshipped on the site in the 8th century. Bath Abbey has therefore survived many battles and is full of stories of kings and queens that will make your hair stand on end. Theatre Lover’s Guide To Bath

Many people enjoy the luxury spa breaks in Bath that are on offer but there are just as many who also enjoy a night out at the theatre too. There are a number of theatres scattered through-out the city that show an array of classic, new and old plays and musicals through-out the year.

Theatre Royal Bath

The Circo Bar and Lounge is a thoroughly modern yet classy pub that sells a large range of drinks, from beers and lagers to ciders and cocktails. Seating over 270, this cocktail bar can get pretty busy at times but the atmosphere is great and the drinks are reasonably priced.

Hall and Woodhouse

This unique bar is full of style and sophistication, with huge leather sofas and dark wood adorning the walls, the bar offers a classic English feel while serving up a great range of drinks and meals. Found in the centre of Bath in a former auction house, this bar is stunning and well worth a visit.

The Tramshed

Shopping in Bath

As you can probably imagine, Bath has a lot of great shops that are a haven for any shopaholic. From local craft shops to big name clothing stores, Bath has it all.

Known as the ‘Central Area’, the centre of Bath is home to many well-known chain stores that can be found through-out the UK but it’s also home to some lovely smaller jewellery and craft shops that make the shopping experience just that little more special.

There is a great range of shops on Orange Grove but if you want to find some family-run stores you should head to Pulteny Bridge where you can get some truly unique gifts for others and yourself of course!

If you’re shopping for art, then you should think about heading to Bridge Street as you’ll find a few galleries there. If you’re worn out after your busy morning, why not head back to your b and b in Bath for a rest before hitting the shops once more?

If you’re more of a market fan then you should head to Guildhall Market which has been around for 800 years. You can buy just about anything here, from haberdashery and food to jewellery and pet products.
