"Personal touch hotel”
We stayed at this hotel for my 50th birthday and had a really lovely time. The staff were a credit to this hotel. They were friendly and exceptionally helpful and added the personal touch, which is hard to find in any hotel both in the UK and abroad. We arrived after a day of travelling and Ed made some egg and bacon sandwiches that were really nice. It was clear he had made an effort. The room was warm, clean and well presented and had lots of extras including a DVD player, Ipod dock and trouser press and many other items. The hotel is located about 2 miles out of town and costs about £8 - £10 in a taxi. The breakfast was very nice and offered an abundance of food for all. I would also like to mention that we required a DAIRY FREE DIET and the hotel staff made sure they could cater for our needs and taken into consideration that cruise ships have struggled to meet our needs.

"Charming!”
This guest house/inn is a perfect spot for a stay when visiting Bath. It is a short bus ride away from the city itself, being located in a kind of suburb. It seems to be a throwback to less hectic times; and is totally charming in all respects. The room was small but very pretty. The full English breakfast was superb and the staff very friendly and welcoming. Parking is included at the rear of the building, a few steps from the front door. The gardens looked beautiful; and I would love to come back and see them when everything is in bloom. Coffee and tea in the lounge are complimentary; and we enjoyed a good hot cup of tea on a cold evening returning from a full day in Bath. Although I was with my sister this time, Bailbrook Lodge would be a perfect spot for a romantic getaway. I definitely will be back. People approaching Bailbrook Lodge by car must be careful not to confuse the entrance with that of Bailbrook House which is next door.

"Great Hotel”
Booked online without seeing Hotel and was pleasantly surprised. Location good for Bath, on foot or bus or Taxi. We arrived Easter weekend (Rugby also on that day) so traffic VERY heavy, but walked in and got bus back - stops right outside. Room (4-poster) was great, food and hospitality also 1st class. If you're travelling to Bath great choice.

"Excellent value spa break”
I really enjoyed the spa package offered by Bailbrook Lodge. For less than £200 per person, we had two nights accommodation, two generous breakfasts, an afternoon tea on the Saturday and entry to the spa in Bath. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. The food was good. The bedrooms are fairly small but everything was clean and the room size did not prove problematic. The B&B offers free car parking which is very welcome in Bath.

"Wonderful weekend...”
On our arrival at Bailbrook Lodge we were greeted in a very warm friendly manner and shown to our room. The room was beautifully and tastefully decorated, very clean with a very comfortable bed and all amenities thoughtfully provided. Towels were good quality, fluffy and clean, even slippers were provided. We had a lovely dinner in Bath at Jamie Oliver's Italian restaurant and enjoyed a lovely walk back (about 25 mins). Our room was lovely and warm on our return. Breakfast was a treat. An excellent choice including fresh prepared fruit, cereal, croissants, full English, salmon and scrambled egg, kippers etc. it arrived quickly and beautifully prepared. Looking forward to returning to Bailbrook lodge on our next visit to Bath.

"Relaxing weekend”
The best thing about this outstanding hotel is the staff. All are very friendly and can't do enough to help. Our room was lovely and we had a nice relaxing slipper bath. The property is full of character. You can walk into the city centre in 20 minutes. Ideal for a weekend away!

"A wonderful surprise”
My young daughter and I were looking for somewhere to stay spontaneously. It was evening and we saw the sign on the roundabout indicating The Bailbrook Lodge. We stopped outside the entrance, called them by phone, asking for a room. The answer was the most friendly and welcoming one you could wish for as if they had been waiting just for us. We spent one night at the Lodge. The room was cosy, warm, clean, the beds were lovely. My daughter was snuggling in her bed with a cup of tea, and we felt like we were home. The breakfast was delicious, and the atmosphere was friendly among all other guests. Definitely a place to return to.

"Great short stay”
Spent a couple of nights here using offer via Travelzoo. Had a fab large room with 4 poster bed. Arrived early but no problem in fact nothing was a problem and all staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great as was the included 3 course lunch at the sister hotel The Royal in Bath. Having a bus stop so close was a real bonus. Only down side was looking forward to a long soak in a red hot bath (having just come back from the Ice Hotel) but only had a wet room. Oh well - perhaps next time....... as we would happy return

"What a wonderful Hotel!!”
I had been recommended to this charming Country Hotel by a Colleague and managed to get a 2 night break via the Travelzoo website. This well appointed friendly Hotel certainly lived up to expectations –t he breakfast was out of this world, the room was spotless and the staff could not be faulted in any way. Every member of staff that I encountered could not do enough for me and I will be visiting again once or maybe twice later in the year. I defy anyone to come away from The Bailbrook Lodge with anything other than a smile-it was a lovely relaxing stay and I will certainly spread the word-after all without my Colleague's recommendation, I would have missed a treat!

"Great hotel and location.”
Stayed here for 2 nights on 18th Feb. We were very pleased with the hotel and ticked every box. Location is good, only a short bus/car journey into the town centre. We walked into town along the Avon canal which was a great experience. The room was very clean and met our expectations, slept well in a very comfortable bed and the bath was great!!. Breakfast and cream tea were perfect and the staff during our stay were very kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel as an excellent value base to explore beautiful Bath. We will return to Bailbrook Lodge!!

"Excellent comfortable stay”
Stayed for the weekend on the 2 night stay, champagne afternoon tea, breakfast and 2 hours at Thermae Spa in Bath deal and would recommend. For the star rating, there are facilities in the rooms and lodge that are a luxury to the star rating. The slipper bath is fabulous, champagne breakfast, lots of variety for breakfast, lovely style building and nice staff. Great location with the bus into Bath running frequently right outside the lodge.

"Exquisite Georgian Lodge Hotel”
Me and my partner stayed here for his birthday this week. The hotel staff were so friendly and smiley. Our room (number 25) was incredible, very spacious with a huge 4 poster bed, made it hard to get up in the mornings because it was so comfy. Amazing shower and wet room. We had a beautiful view outside of our window onto the garden. A very quiet and peaceful place. Very easy to get into the city centre via the number 13 bus, also only cost about £7 to get from the centre back to the hotel in a taxi. Such a lovely place to stay. Thank you to everyone there for making it a lovely couple of days.

"Great place for a Bath visit”
Stayed here for one night on a Travelzoo offer. Upgraded to a 4 poster room which was clean and large. Excellent complimentary tray with fruit, biscuits, fresh ground coffee and assorted teas. The room was well furnished with a walk in wet room, no bath. Had the champagne breakfast which was cooked to order with a small continental buffet included. Bath town centre is about 30-45min walk along the A4. Everything was clean and staff friendly. Great place to stay for a visit to Bath.

"Great hospitality”
Went to Bath for a two night break and could not have found a better place to relax after all that walking through Bath. The free car park meant we could walk into Bath but only yards from the hotel is a bus stop with a regular service into bath which gave us a nice option. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. The staff were all very nice and friendly and could not do enough for you .Food was of the highest order and lots of choice for breakfast. Would certainly go back there and would recommend this lodge to any one.

"Christmas Markets visit”
We visited Bath Christmas Markets and booked into The Bailbrook Lodge hotel which I found on the internet. I couldn’t have found better, the hotel was warm and comfortable, the food was excellent, and the staff could not have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble, we were able to leave the car at the hotel and catch the bus into bath with the bus stop being 50 yards up the road. We are hoping to return to Bath in the summer of 2013 (that’s if we have one) and we will stay at the Bailbrook Lodge again. Many thanks for looking after us so well.

"A Good Experience”
We normally don’t stay this far out of town when visiting Bath. However I was delighted to find that the distance did not cause us any problems. There is a very good bus service into the city and the bus stop is about 200 meters form the lodge. On the occasion I did take the car into the city the journey was painless. Our room was very cosy and had all that we needed what a change to find that the wardrobe had more than enough coat hangers so we did not have to share. Breakfast was an occasion with a very good choice on the menu plus bucks fizz if you wanted. The staff were very helpful to me and my wife who has advanced Alzheimer’s disease. Over breakfast they showed great patients and understanding. Unlike other accommodation in the city there was a good car park off road which was free. The lodge serves snacks throughout the day with a set meal in the evening; however we did not sample any food other than breakfast. I will certainly consider staying at the lodge if we visit the city again. My thanks to all for an enjoyable stay.

"Great break with very friendly and helpful staff”
Booked a 2 day break with an upgrade to one of the Four Poster rooms.Staff throughout the stay were polite, cheerful and helpful - great customer service. We loved the huge bedroom and shower room with all the usual facilities, and were even offered fresh milk with tea in the room. A Gluten intolerance caused no issues at breakfast which was superb, and if your booking includes an afternoon tea - be prepared for sandwiches, crisps and a cream tea (no issue with the sandwiches- and an improvised cake with jam meant no Gluten issues again) we couldn't eat it all !!! The hotel is not right in Bath itself but we used the bus service and we were walking round the town within 15 minutes of leaving the hotel. A great break and would definitely go back.

"Georgian Delight.”
Set in an excellent location, about one and a half miles from the City Centre, this delightful hotel, that has been lovingly maintained in keeping with the era, was warm, friendly and oozed tradition. The staff were a very jolly bunch and the breakfast menu was delicious. I would highly recommend to any traveller, whether they be lone, coupled or in groups. Age restrictions need not apply either.

I don't normally write a review for overnight stays but I just had to for this place. Everything about it was lovely. The staff were very very friendly, the room had all the items you need. We just were not expecting such a lovely place with the price we paid. The breakfast was also fantastic! We have decided to return in January for the sales and do a little shop, so will look forward to having another enjoyable stay!

We had an overnight stay at this hotel in October 2012, and couldn't have had better service or food.We were made really welcome on arrival and the bedroom and bathroom were beautifully clean but the thing that really won us over were the tea and coffee making facilities, complete with cafetiere, a really nice touch.Wish more hotels included one of these!
The hotel is easy to find from the Motorway with ample parking, and we would definitely recommend it to our friends and family.

Brilliant time in Bath”
We were not quite sure what to expect from this hotel, but we were very surprised when we arrived. Upon arrival we were greeted by a very pleasant young man called Ed, who was absolutely charming and gave us a tour of the lodge. Later on in the evening we then met the lovely Justine who was a real delight and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble and she was so friendly, it was if we had known her for a long time unfortunately when we booked out she was not working but we will catch up with her when we stay again, hopefully this will be sometime in December. The breakfast we had was just fantastic and cooked to perfection, our compliments to the chef and the morning staff who again were so friendly and helpful, we will see you soon.

"Perfect!”
We stayed in Bailbrook Lodge on a Saturday night in October 2012 and were very impressed. As soon as we arrived the receptionist was delightful and helpful. Our room was beautiful, a huge room with four poster bed and shower room and lovely views of the garden. The owners have gone to great lengths to think of absolutely everything someone staying in the room might need.
We took a taxi into the centre of Bath which was very short - about 5 minutes drive.
The breakfast the next morning was wonderful - a huge choice and really delicious.
We would definitely recommend it and are looking forward to planning our next trip!

We stayed at Bailbrook Lodge for one night and found it to be excellent. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. When we arrived we were shown around and then shown to our room. The room was clean and very comfortable with a great selection of hot drinks. They even provided slippers and an i pod dock. The food and service at breakfast was excellent with a vegetarian option. Bailbrook Lodge is located slightly out of walking distance of Bath centre, however there is free parking and it is a short car journey into Bath. Overall we are really glad we stayed here it was excellent value for money and we will definitely stay again on our next visit to Bath.

"Make sure you book the Lodge.”
I wasn't sure about this property when I booked it, as I had left it very late to book accommodation in Bath, and nearly everything else was full. I think the reason that it was still available was probably because it is out of town, rather than the city center.
It was the best thing that could have happened.
The Lodge and the Hotel are next to each other, but no longer owned by the same operators. Make sure you book the Lodge, as it is terrific.
Our twin room, was small, but so charming and cosy that you overlooked it's size. The staff were super friendly, and were happy to accommodate us wherever they could. The room was very clean and had some little extra touches in with the usual tea/coffee items.
There was complimentary internet (which was a godsend), a lovely little guest lounge or sitting room and a nice breakfast room.
We were delighted that we booked this property and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

"Very friendly place with character”
I booked a twin room for my daughter and I before she has to go away. Booked on line hassle free and had the choice of booking flowers and champagne. When we arrived (earlier than 2 p.m. check-in time) the welcome was warm and friendly we were shown around and then shown to our room. Not huge but certainly enough room for both of us. Bathroom was a bit wow with slipper bath!.. And every thing was clean. View from room was of the garden and valley and although misty and wet would be spectacular on a sunny day.
There were nice touches such as slippers and tea and coffee making facilities including a cafetiere to make proper coffee...not seen this before and was a great touch for us coffee lovers...! Also iPod dock.
The flowers I requested were outstanding!!!... Champagne was pretty good too.
Breakfast was very good with plenty of selection to set you up for the day, and the staff were very smiley and friendly.
I would definitely stay again

"A lovely stay”
We've just returned from a weekend stay at Bailbrook. We had a four poster bedroom, which was a great size, clean and nice decor. Lots of nice touches like the slippers, freshly ground coffee and mineral water. There was a great choice of food at breakfast and it was all really tasty. We had an very warm welcome and the staff were all really friendly and helpful.
It's in a nice location, you can't hear road noise at all, and it's a lovely walk along the canal into the centre of Bath (we also did the Bath skyline walk and came down the hill from the Sham Castle track and along the river to get to the hotel - a bit muddy/steep in places!)

"Lovely Hotel”
My wife and I have just returned from a 3 night stay at Bailbrook Lodge. We had a lovely double room overlooking the gardens, which was well stocked with a superb selection of coffees, including fresh ground; teas, Horlicks and hot chocolate. A cafetiere was also provided. The spacious bathroom had a deep slipper bath which was extremely welcome after a hard day's sightseeing in Bath! Also provided was a selection of shampoos and soaps which were replenished daily. A good quality stereo radio alarm/iPod dock was a nice touch, as was the LCD TV with DVD player. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows soft yet supportive.
All staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, and the choice and quality of the breakfast was superb. It really set us up for the day.
In conclusion, my wife and I had a really enjoyable stay at this hotel and we certainly intend to return some time soon.

"My 40th birthday at Bailbrook Lodge”
Arrived at Bailbrook lodge on 28th September with all my closest dearest friends. Had a bad start to our break as I mislaid my spending money. But the lovely Justine (hotel manager) was very helpful and put us all at ease. We had a complimentary glass of champagne but loosing all my spending money did not put a damper on our break. The room (four poster) that my friend and i were given (upgraded) for the first night was perfect. It overlooked the gardens and it was lovely and spacious, the bed was lovely and comfortable.
The breakfast is to die for. Best we have ever had. We so very much enjoyed our break and Bath is a beautiful city with plenty to see and do.
We cannot thank Justine enough. She is an absolute credit to the hotel and nothing is too much trouble. We even had afternoon tea when we returned from the Spa in Bath.
We would definately come again.
Thankyou Justine for making my 40th birthday so memorable.

"A very nice place and very well located. Good value"
A great arrival, nice rooms and helpful staff, happy to deal with us checking in early. Parking a bonus, and a good location for Bath itself, being a short taxi ride away. I know the city very well after having lived there, and a better city to visit in the UK would be hard to find. We did have an issue, but this has been superbly handled by the owner, for which we are grateful. It is nice to see that this is a business run by people who care, and this is a huge positive. I rate places very honestly and I would certainly recommend a stay here. Breakfast is 1st class too.

Just back from what is now fast becoming our annual visit to Bailbrook Lodge. We stumbled on this place 4 years ago and now have just had our 4th visit. The hotel is lovely and quiet and yet central for all activities whether this be Bath or surrounding areas. The staff cannot be more helpful and are always willing to accommodate should need arise. The rooms are lovely and clean and comfortable. Do walk the canal path into Bath, it is a wonderful walk and you can always get the boat back for an alternative view of the area. I would also like to say a huge thank you to Michelle for the superb massage which we were able to receive in the comfort of our own room....see you again next year everyone and once again thank you for our wonderful stay.

Spent three nights there, excellent. The Staff are very helpful and attentive and the room was very restful, also not bland like some. It is a lovely building complemented by the friendliness of the staff who are also very knowledgeable of Bath itself. My wife needed to be up and out early in the mornings, before the normal serving time of breakfast, so they made breakfast for her before the cooks even turned up (Thank you Ed and Rachael), staff who care. It is sited on a bus route so it is easy to get to Bath without the car. The grounds are well kept and picturesque. The price is good for Bath and there is free internet access. I would certainly use this hotel again.

"Simply wonderful”
I can say how wonderful the massive 4 poster bed was, the wet room, wonderful breakfasts, catering for veggies also, great location, walking distance to bath or the water ferry, great restaurants nearby but all of these come secondary to a hugely important thing, the staff & manager, these people are lovely! They are so welcoming, knowledgeable, supportive....
There are too many great things to see & do around the area to fit in one visit, but the staff really helped us to feel like we were home from home & we look forward to our next visit, thank you.

"Excellent value luxury break - Garden Suite perfect for families”
We stayed here for one night on a day trip to Bath with our 4 children on 9th July 2012. We had the Garden Suite which has a beautiful large 4 poster room with exposed brick walls and an adjacent twin room, which is perfect for children. The staff were very helpful, the gardens are beautiful and the breakfast was absolutely first class - my eggs benedict was made with freshly made hollandaise and the home made croissants were amazing. You could even help yourself to champagne for a morning buck's fizz. It's not central to the main shopping areas, but the bus stop outside is so handy and 10 minutes on the bus takes you right to the shops, Roman Baths etc. Also, it was very easy to catch one in the centre which drops you back to right outside the hotel entrance. A taxi is about £8 so if you are more than 2 people, this might be just as cheap as the bus. Bailbrook Lodge is charming, classy, quaint. I would describe it as a luxury guesthouse - don't expect the polish of a hotel, but do expect nice touches, a warm welcome to everyone( even children!) first class food and a lovely relaxing place to stay.

"Excellent in all respects”
Our three day stay at this wonderful B&B was an excellent find. Our room was very quiet, despite being on the front of the building. The long gardens outside meant that traffic noise was almost non-existent. Our double room was more than adequate, and the en-suite, with its slipper bath, was very novel. One point for the 'mature' visitor - you may prefer to have a room with a shower, as we had to be very careful on entering/ exiting the bath! Breakfasts were amazing (smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were a surprise), with daily mineral water, fruit and biscuits in our room. Free parking too! Complementary slippers on arrival were also an added bonus. If you don't fancy the 30 minute stroll into Bath there are always local buses outside this lovely B&B. You won't regret booking!!

"Great hotel near beautiful Bath"
This beautiful hotel is situated just outside Bath city centre. Just minutes away from the Roman Baths and Thermae Spa. Sally Lunn's is also one of the places you should be, for her famous buns. Bailbrook Lodge has some fine people working there. The greatest hospitality and also a great English breakfast prepared as you personally like it! Private parking place and a spacious room. We would say that this hotel is quite a good place to stay if you are romantic. Clean and tidy. In the bedrooms you will have coffee, tea, cookies, some fruit and some chocolates. Wow what an experience!!

"Great
place to stay”
I was
leading a party of nine including young children and we all come from Australia.
We found the Lodge to be casual and friendly. The small staff made us welcome
and gave the wonderful impression that we were guests rather room hirers. We had
trouble finding it as you tend to go to the nearby hotel and be redirected to
the Lodge which is where us lesser mortals stay.
The rooms were full of
atmosphere and generous and although the lounge and dining room are small they
are in proportion to the number of guests and add to the B&B
feel. Location was good for us as we were driving and wanted not only to
see Bath - which is not in walking distance if you are pushing a stroller - and
Stonehenge. We loved the four poster beds which were enormous and the
selection of hot drinks available in the room well exceeded the usual Nescafe
and teabags.

"Lovely stay"
My wife and I stayed here late March for four days and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. All of the staff were very friendly and efficient. We stayed on top floor, the room wasn't huge but more than adequate. What a pleasure to get biscuits, fresh fruit and free bottled water in the room.....each day! It was comfortable and clean and well equipped (don't forget this is a B&B). The breakfasts were equal to, and better than some, 4star hotels we have stay in! Proper table covers with matching linen napkins, loose tea in pots at table (not cheap bags). My personal favourite was the fresh fruit salads every morning (different each day). Plenty of cereals, porridge etc, and of course that lovely full English!!! If that isn't enough....a big bowl of fresh fruit for guests in the foyer! All in all, a lovely old building run by genuine staff who go out of their way to help or please their guests. Well done and a big thank you to Rachael and Daniel.
We (Kay & Trevor) will be back to visit Bath again and we look forward to staying at Bailbrook Lodge with you guys again.

Daniel and his staff looked after us so well - restaurants were recommended and booked on our behalf, taxis arranged, helpful advice offered on maximising the best use of our time in the city. In fact everything was done to ensure our comfort and enjoyment during our stay, making us feel important and valued customers - we have already booked a return visit later in the year.

"A lovely B&B”
We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of March and found it to be excellent. We had one of the downstairs rooms which was actually a bedroom, small foyer and largish bathroom, and had direct access to the garden. The room ha everything we needed including a great range of tea and coffee that the staff were happy to replenish. Breakfast was great with both continental an cooked selections available and was served in a nice dining room overlooking the garden. Easy to find with ample parking, it's a good option for those driving. Parking in Bath centre is a bit challenging (and $$) so unless it's Sunday, it's recommended to catch the bus into the centre. There's a stop near the lodge. The staff are extremely welcoming and very helpful. This B&B is definitely recommended.

"A real Georgian country house stay”
We have just returned from a two night sta. The bedrooms are very splendid, well maintained. ,The dining room is beautiful, starched table cloths and napkins, Bucks Fizz, with real champagne to start breakfast, fresh fruit, strawberries, cooked breakfast. The staff are all very helpful, The owner was very pleasant, he advised us on the sites to see in Bath. I would recommend any one to stay here. It is just on the outskirts of Bath, there is a bus service just along from the lodge in to town every 20 minutes, This takes away the stress of having to negotiate directions if you are travelling to bath on the A46, Its just of the roundabout. Thanks to Daniel for his excellent service

A lovely hotel with extremely helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble for Daniel, the manager.
He showed us round the hotel on arrival and was prompt and efficient when dealing with any query. The room was very comfortable and tidy. It was a good base for touring Bath and I would be happy to make a return visit to Bailbrook Lodge. It was very good value for money. Thank you to all the staff and very best wishes for the future success of your hotel.

He showed us to our room and around the lodge which all looked lovely. During our stay we found all the staff to be attentive, friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and tidy and had lovely views. There was plenty of choice at breakfast to suit all tastes. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and would certainly recommend a stay here

"The best hotel in the quality / price ratio I've ever been.”
I enjoyed my stay at this beautiful hotel. Cleanliness, staff and their friendliness, decoration, and a magnificent breakfast . There was Champagne! The decoration of the rooms was very nice. Also the dining room and hall. You can use free internet, and the garden is lovely. Certainly it's the best hotel in the quality / price ratio I've ever been.
